Just got my new charger

I finally received my new charging cord. The original for my car was a fire hazard so they decided to recall them and replace them. This has been going on since September 2018. Here it is April 2019….moving at a snail’s pace….

Here it is August 18, 2017 Lots has happened

We have been on a few trips since my last blog. In 2015 we went on a Midwest tour with our motorhome and car. It was being towed on a tow dolly which got old real fast.

Now we tow it all 4 wheels down and it is so much easier. We were going to do a tour of Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and finally Washington. We got to our first stop in Washington (Spokane) and we could not get our slides to come in. The slide electric part burned out trying to get our driver’s side slide in. We had to have a mobile mechanic come and push it in which was horrible. After that we made a beeline for home. The motorhome has spent the last 7 weeks in All Wheel here in Redding. We just got it back but it is still not fixed. We are going to have to visit Winnebago either in Junction City Oregon or Forest River Iowa. I certainly hope it’s the first one. That is a 2,000 mile trip one way for us to go to Iowa. We don’t have anything going on in September so it would be a good time to go somewhere. Our whole summer has been waiting for this thing to come back so we can use it. Very disappointing.

Still loving my little car. We have saved a lot on gas and it is a pleasure to drive. I would buy another one if I ever needed to.

It’s been a long time….

I know it’s been a long time since my last post. A lot had happened with this little car. We are still loving it. The car has now been wired so we can pull it 4 wheels down behind our motorhome! It is so much easier hooking it up, pulling it and unhooking it. Here it is 3 years since we bought it and it only has 16,000 miles on it.

We are towing this little car behind our Motorhome

We are now towing this little car behind our Class A Motorhome. I don’t drive the Motorhome but my husband says he hardy knows it is there. We put it on a tow dolly because of the charge problem the car has. It has to be be in auxiliary mode for it to be towed with all 4 wheels on the ground and you would have to stop and start the car every couple of hours to keep the battery charged. So we opted for a tow dolly and so far it has been ok. We are learning to put the straps on the wheels quicker and getting it off the dolly quicker. It has definitely been a learning experience with this car. We had our first dead battery yesterday. It is going into the dealer tomorrow to have the battery tested to see if this is the problem. I still love this car.

Finally took a road trip

Today we took a 300 mile road trip. I only used a half tank of gas. This car continues to amaze me.

I am still amazed by this car!

I have had this car since June 26th. I was given a full tank of gas at the time of purchase. I still have that same tank of gas today. I am able to do errands all week in town and not use a drop of gas. I sure wish they had this technology before now. It would have saved us a lot of money!!!

Added TorkLift Hitch today

Today we added a TorkLift Hitch to the C-Max. I have always had a hitch on my cars not so much for towing but for holding a bike rack. The install was a little tricky but we got it because you did not have to drill any holes. Here is what my install looks like.

New TorkLift hitch. You can't even see it.

Here are pictures of my C-Max Energi

I just love this car! I have been waiting a long time for a car like to come along that has the best of both worlds. I love how I can go to town and not use one drop of gas. So far we have had the car for 17 days and have not used any gas that they gave us at the purchase time.

I am loving this little C-Max

I love this car! We have had this car for 17 days now and so far we have not used any of the gas that was put into at the purchase time. It’s great doing short errands and not watching your gas go down quickly as in our other car. IMG_0094smallcmax 3IMG_0097smallcmax2IMG_0093smallcmax1

Just installed my Leviton Charging Station

charge station small 1charge station smallWe purchased our car on June 26, 2013 and soon found that we wanted a charging station instead of the 110 volt that came with the car. I have put up some pictures of the charging station. It was pretty easy for us because where we wanted it was very close to our house electrical box. Our electrician only had to put in a 40 amp circuit, run wire to the included plug and that was it. It now only takes a matter of a couple of hours instead of 7 or 8 to charge the car from empty.
